ABY’s ‘i won’t be too far’ encompasses the feeling of wanting to fly away – to leave something behind for something greater. Written at the height of the pandemic, the frustration of feeling stuck and wanting to pursue your dreams is interwoven within the lyrics and the music. Despite the song being about wanting to leave, it reassures that those left behind aren’t forgotten and are comforted. 

The dream pop bop, which switches between English, Bisaya, Korean, and Japanese, isn’t a goodbye, but more of a “see you soon” to those who helped you on your journey but are no longer part of it.  With soulful harmonies and beats of longing to break free, ABY leaves behind the impression that she will only soar from now on.

ABY is a singer/songwriter from Davao City. A girl with big dreams, she takes pride in being able to embrace her empathetic side, and takes inspiration from the emotions she feels deeply – projecting it into her writing and vocal performances.
