ALYSON – Babalik

Estimated read time 2 min read

Babalik is about the frustrations of uncertainty in a relationship. It’s a response to the fear of having really good things happen only to be “balanced” out by something equally worse. Now that there is this new and even better relationship, the character has some doubts and just doesn’t want to lose again the same way as in the past. As noted in the song’s bridge, the line “kung ngayon ay tawanan lang at tuksuhan, bukas ba’y luhaan?”.

All of this is only happening in their head though, which is why the end of the song “returns” as the character snaps back to reality, leading to the next track in the album, “Underpass”.
