Pagdinig ng Supreme Court sa oral arguments sa Martial Law itinakda sa susunod na linggo

Itinakda ng Supreme Court (SC) sa Junio 13 to 15 ang oral argument tungkol sa petition laban sa Martial Law.

Ayon kay Ted Te, tagapagsalita ng Supreme Court inutusan din ng SC si Solicitor General Jose Calida na mag file ng kanyang comment bago dumating ang June 12.

Ang preliminary conference para sa magkabilang panig ang itinakda rin sa araw na yon.

I re represent ni Calida si Executive Sec Salvador  Medialdea, Defense Sec Delfin Lorenzana at Armed Forces General Eduardo Año.

Sina Año at Lorenzana ay kapwa administrator at implementor ng Martial Law.

Nakasaad sa Konstitusyon na ang Supreme Court ay mayroong 30-days upang magbigay desisyon sa legalidad ng Martial Law.

Ayon sa 28-page petition “ The President’s proclamation of martial law in Mindanao has no sufficient factual basis as it is feebly based on mostly contrived and/or inaccurate facts, self-serving speculations, enumeration of distant occurrences and mere conclusions of fact and law,”

Ang tinawag na magnificent seven lawmakers ay sina Albay Rep Edcel Lagman, Ifugao Rep. Teddy Baguilat, Caloocan City Rep. Edgar Erice, Northern Samar Rep. Raul Daza, Akbayan Rep. Tom Villarin, Magdalo Rep. Gary Alejano and Capiz Rep. Emmanuel Billones.
