Para sa joint development, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi bumisita sa Pilipinas

Isinusulong ni Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi na magkarooon ng joint development ang Pilipinas at China sa West Philippine Seas.

Si Wang ay nasa Maynila para sa overnight trip at sa imbitasyon ng Pilipnas.

Ayon kay Wang “In waters where there is overlapping of maritime rights and interests, if one party goes for unilateral development, the other party will take the same actions, and that might complicate the situation at sea. That might lead to tensions and as the end result…. Nobody might be able to develop the resources.”

Sinabi ni Wang ang remarks matapos na hingan ng reaction sa pahayag ni Presidente Rodrigo Duterte na makakaasa ang mga Pilipino na magkakaroon ng joint oil exploration sa West Philippine Seas.

Nauna nang nagkaroon ng bilateral meeting sina Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayerano at Foreign Minister Wang.

Nagpirmahan ang dalawang opisyal ng Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) para sa closer cooperation ng dalawang bansa.
